BOOST study visit at the University of Primorska (Slovenia)

Day 1 (27.11.2023)

Our Ukrainian team has arrived to Koper - one of the most beautiful cities in Slovenia. We had a chance to find out more about the history and architecture of the city on a guided tour with energetic Stanko Pelc. It was unforgettable! 

The creative Slovenian team (Silva Bratož, Sonja Rutar, Andreja Klančar) welcomed the participants at the Faculty of Education. Our Ukrainian partners received a lot of useful information on the mission and vision in international work and cooperation of University of Primorska presented by charismatic Aleš Oven.

At the second part of the day we discussed the Project aims, goals, structure and expectations with our favourite International Coordinator Oleksandra Golovko.

We are looking forward to see each other tomorrow!!!)))

Day 2 (28.11.2023)

Today we had informative lectures from Slovenian colleagues Sonja Rutar and Andreja Klančar on student-centered blended learning and digital competencies of higher education teachers. The questions under discussion included 

  • - the University vision, mission and strategy; 

  • - the development of a new course curriculum structure;

  • - combining knowledge, practice and reflection in teaching and learning;

  • - standards for e-classroom design.   

          In the second part of the day Oksana Rudych and Nataliia Hertsovska from Ukraine shared their experience on participating in Erasmus+ projects and using suggestopedia in the context of student-centered approach in foreign language teaching.

Day 3 (29.11.2023)

This was one of the most efficient working days of the visit to Slovenia, as far as we had exciting lectures by Anja Pirih, Silva Bratož and Šarolta Godnič Vičič from the University of Primorska, Tomi Dolenc and Ariela Herček from Academic and Research Network of Slovenia (ARNES) and fruitful groupwork. Now we know how

-    to design MOOC activities;

-    to create virtual environment and organize students’ virtual mobility;

-    to design a course from an activity perspective;

-    does ARNES work.

By the way, we were happy to greet our Polish partners Iwona Dwojacka and Dorota Zarek from the University of Applied Sciences in Elblag.

All our expectations were met.

Day 4 (30.11.2023)

In spite of heavy rain, we were working hard with Dorota Zarek (Poland), Oleksandra Golovko (Estonia) and Karmen Drljič (Slovenia) today. We discussed

-       using digital tools in teaching Mathematics (GeoGebra);

-       individual travel reports in Erasmus+ projects;

-       digital equity in higher education;

-       development of university strategic plan.

Also, the Ukrainian team (Alina Maslova, Oleksandr Pavlenko, Tetiana Siroshtan) presented their experience of using student-centered approach in their University.

Day 5 (01.12.2023)

During the first part of the day we discussed pedagogical and technical support for teachers with Stanko Pelc. The participants of the workshop

-       did e-voting activity;

-       practiced adding new activities on their Moodle platform;

-       learned how to use H5P activity from a Moodle content bank;

-       shared experience of using Moodle platforms of different partner-universities from Slovenia, Estonia and Ukraine.

In the second part of the day all partners of our BOOST project met in a blended format to plan the work for the next half of a year.
